Abby Morrison HNC Fashion Makeup – Student Stories
At GlamCandy we have an array of talented students who consistently impress us with their development throughout their courses.
Abby Morrison, an HNC Fashion Makeup student, works part-time in a sunbed shop and practices her true passion of becoming an MUA in her spare time.
She specialises in glam makeup, however is committed to expanding her portfolio to other styles to showcase a professional, varied background as an artist.
HNC FASHION MAKEUP
When Abby applied to her HNC Fashion Makeup course, she felt the main focus would be on more glam looks – the most popular style at the moment. Now, she admits she couldn’t have been more wrong.
Abby said, “I love all the different styles we do, from runway to classic 20th century. I love how challenging the course can be.
“We are encouraged to be more creative and think outside the box, which is exactly what artistry needs!”
She said, “The best piece of advice that I’ve learned from GlamCandy is that you have as much freedom as possible to be as creative as you want to be. There are no boundaries in makeup!
Abby’s favourite part of the course is learning tips and techniques from her tutors to apply to her work – everybody works differently and nothing has to be done a certain way.
Abby’s most useful piece of advice for applying makeup is:
“If a product or technique isn’t working for you, don’t abandon it. Try a different brush or a different technique.
“You will find a way that works for you, don’t give up.”
Upon graduating from her course, Abby is keen to put herself out there and get as much experience as possible in all areas of the industry.
Inspired by her own tutors, becoming a tutor and hosting masterclasses is another goal of Abby’s. Passing the knowledge that she has gained through GlamCandy to other aspiring artists through 1–1 lessons and demonstrations would be a dream come true.
When asked about studying with GlamCandy, Abby said, “It’s the best thing I have ever done. It has motivated me to do what I love and do as much as I possibly can with it.
“I really recommend studying with GlamCandy. It may be challenging but in a good way. All MUAs need a challenge, it makes us true makeup artists.”
