Makeup Courses at Auchmuty High School
GlamCandy offer courses to high school pupils for formal qualifications in makeup.
GlamCandy are teaching an SQA-approved course at Auchmuty High School in Glenrothes, equipping pupils with the vital skills required to gain their National Progression Award qualifications (NPA).
Not only does the course offer essential makeup skills, but provides students with business development knowledge and confidence building. Pupils receive an award at SCQF level 5, a recognisable qualification within the educational system.
These skills, in turn, encourage students to aim for future progression into employment or further education. Pupils are instantly more employable, and harbour vital knowledge in business etiquette.
This year, our class had 22 senior pupils – up from 14 the previous year. These class numbers have been progressively growing as more pupils are eager to study with GlamCandy in the future.
Auchmuty head teacher Craig Mcleod said, “This is an admirable investment in our young people by GlamCandy, and we are delighted it will benefit a group of our pupils socially, academically and vocationally.
“Our pupils will develop employability skills whilst growing their confidence.”
Ebony Smith, head of education at GlamCandy, added, “We encourage pupils to expand their own knowledge across their school curriculum. This gives them confidence in their skills and abilities that they can take forward into their future career – be it in the beauty industry or elsewhere.
“We’re delighted to have brought this course to Fife and look forward to introducing it to other schools elsewhere in Scotland.”
The course teaches pupils a range of skills in evening, bridal and corrective makeup, to name a few. These skills are highly sought after by both employers and clients in the beauty industry.
At GlamCandy, we teach our students to strive for the best in class, but also with their personal development outside of their studies. We are encouraging high school pupils to ignite an interest in their academics and expand their knowledge across the school curriculum.
We can already see immense personal growth in every pupil and are looking forward to witnessing their development as the school year progresses.
Due to the growing success, we have introduced this course to Currie High School in Edinburgh and Woodmill High School in Dunfermline.
