WORKING ON L’OREAL’S NEW CAMPAIGN

Recently Lead Tutor and Senior Makeup Artist, Karen Bowen was asked to complete the makeup for L’Oreal to promote their new hair colour ‘Majirel Glow’ to L’Oreal salons.

Karen was the lead makeup artist for the photoshoot which took place in the Charlie Miller Educational Salon at Holy. Cross in Edinburgh. Karen took HNC student Michelle Farrell from class D5 in Dunfermline along with her to assist.

Karen felt Michelle was confident enough in her HNC studies with GlamCandy to actually do the whole look on some of the models herself.

Karen stated: “Throughout Michelle’s time with GlamCandy, she has been consistent in her efforts to improve her skills and her determination to master the techniques. This is why I chose her to assist me on the shoot.”

The brief for the photoshoot was ‘soft and natural’ makeup with glowing skin to match the glowing hair colour L’Oreal is bringing out.

From the experience, HNC student Michelle gained invaluable experience as a student working with such a global brand as L’Oreal.

Michelle says: “The experiances GlamCandy has given me, you wouldn’t get anywhere else. You are taught by tutors who have years in the industry and if you work hard enough, you are able to assist them with their freelance work.”

Overall, for both Karen and Michelle, the experience to work with L’Oreal gave them experience working with a global brand and working to a brief.
