Charity Fundraiser @ ROX
A glamorous fundraiser at ROX Edinburgh has raised nearly £4,000 for Maggie’s ‘Buy a Brick’ appeal.
High-flying businesswoman Kai Murray hosted the fundraiser at the high-end ROX Edinburgh jewellery boutique. Over 60 ladies enjoyed canapes, cocktails and beauty treatments to drum up funds for Maggie’s cancer charity.
Together, Kai and friend Lisa have been fundraising for Maggie’s, using their backgrounds as top businesswomen to raise cash for the charity. Organising an array of events such as high teas, glamorous balls and exercise challenges, the two pals have successfully fundraised over £700,000 thus far.
Evening News and Maggie’s have teamed together for the Buy a Brick appeal, which aims to build an extension for Edinburgh’s Western General Hospital.
The £1.2m extension will include three new therapy rooms, allowing an additional 5,000 visitors per year, and new garden space. More than £440,000 fundraised through corporate sponsorship, and the Evening News appeal has generated nearly £39,000 since its launch in November.
Guests were invited to try out a number of beauty treatments from local businesses such as Austen Thomson Hair, Zen Lifestyle, Caudalie and makeup application by GlamCandy.
