Three of our Glasgow students, Erin Boyle, Erin MacConnell and Ujala Choudhry were selected to represent GlamCandy at the Glasgow University Charity Fashion Show in February after our tutor, Steph, reach out to Scottish makeup artist Karen Wong.
As part of our HNC courses, one of the sections is work experience and Steph decided this would be the perfect placement for them.
The initial plan was for the girls to support Karen Wong with skin preparation and assisting the key artist, but on day two, the each ended up completing a look for the show on the models.
“they were amazing assistants, I couldn’t have asked for nicer girls.” Karen Wong
Erin Boyle was very excited to have been a part of this experience as it is a career path that she wants to follow in the future.
“Getting to work on the Glasgow university charity fashion show was such an amazing opportunity. I assisted Karen Wong who was the lead makeup artist. Before the show prep started, I was given a brief along with 4 assigned looks for the models. It was a surreal experience to be a part of a fashion show and it really helped me clarify this is definitely what I want to continue doing in the future.” Erin Boyle, GlamCandy student.
