Course Overview

Looking to start a career in media, fashion or photographic make-up, but don’t have the time to commit to a full time course? Our City & Guilds accredited make-up course has the answer for you.


Cleverly designed to cater for aspiring make-up artists looking for a career change, this 9 month course allows you to study just one 1 evening a week.


Learn the skills and techniques used by professional make-up artists, with real life projects in mind. From flawless skin techniques and photographic make-up, to dressing hair and maintain client care.


This qualification is suitable for anyone from 16 years old or over. There are no prior qualifications needed.


A progression course is available on completion of the first 9 months.

  • Working in the beauty related industries
  • Health and safety
  • Client care and communication
  • Body art design
  • Apply make up
  • Provide eyelash and brow treatments
  • Create an image based on a theme within the hair and beauty sector
  • The art of photographic make up
  • The art of colouring hair
  • The art of dressing hair
  • Apply skin tanning techniques
  • Make and style a hair addition

Edinburgh: 22nd January - 24th September - Tuesday Evenings

Dunfermline: 4th March - 4th November - Monday Evenings

Employment

Will I get employment after the course?

Many of our students are placed on work placement on completion of their course. Students may also be invited to work shadow our artists in our shops or assist on weddings, fashion shows, music videos and photoshoots.


What type of jobs can I get on completion?

On completion of this course previous students have gained employment working in makeup studios, makeup counters or now work as a freelancer artist. Many of our hard working dedicated students booked on this course as a hobby or an additional job and have been so successful they have chosen makeup as their sole profession

Payment Options

Flexible payment plans available up to 12 months. Or you can spread the cost further with one of our finance agreements up to 5 years. Once you have paid your deposit we will be in touch to discuss which payment options are most suitable to you.
