Leah Greenhill HNC Students Experience
“In 5 years time I would like to see myself working on photoshoots, or even TV makeup. I just want makeup to be my full time job.”
We caught up with HNC studen Leah Greenhill (@BlendsByLeah) to speak about her experience so far with us here at GlamCandy.
“My experience at GlamCandy has been amazing. I’m studying HNC in Fashion Makeup and so far the course has on been one of a kind. I enrolled in the course as I had seen it all over social media during lockdown. I applied a couple of times but it ended up not being the right time for me, then eventually I just went for it. Ny end goal is to walk away with my qualifications, a good portfolio and friends for life!”
“Before coming to GlamCandy I was a self-taught MUA, I work in a small town in the back room of a salon and had a small clientele which was growing but not at the rate for me to keep up in the salon. But now, I’ve moved closer to the big city and I can’t wait for my next adventure with my qualification. I don’t have much hobbies other than makeup to be honest, I like listening to music and watching TV shows. I sometimes venture back to my old town as well to see my family and spend some time with them.”
“The highlight of the course so far has got to be when we went to the BPerfect Mega Store in the St Enoch’s Centre, we got to watch a masterclass which has added to all the tips and knowledge that the tutors have already gave us. My favourite style has got to be Bridal. I find it so interesting seeing the different types of makeup that you can create on brides. I’m now looking forward to us starting our Editorial and Runway unit.”
If Leah could pick any celebrity to do their makeup it would have to be Kim Kardashian, with her flawless facial structure and her impeccable skin, we can’t help but agree her face would be a dreamy one to paint!
“My biggest achievement would be taking the leap to actually start the college. It was such a big step for me coming from such a small town 2 hours away from GlamCandy’s nearest college. I haven’t regretted a single moment though.”
“Advice I would give to someone considering starting their makeup journey is to take the leap and not hold back. If you enjoy makeup it is completely worth everything and more!”
