GlamCandy Aberdeen’s lead MUA, Amanda, wins ‘Best Makeup Artist’ award for the second year running at renowned Scotlands Business Awards.
The 2019 Scotlands Business Awards were held at the Jury’s Inn Hotel at Aberdeen Airport in March. For the second consecutive year, lead tutor Amanda won the award of Best Makeup Artist – and at GlamCandy, we couldn’t be prouder!
She said, “I am absolutely delighted to win this award for the second year in a row. A massive thank you to all my loyal customers, friends and family for all your support.
“It was an incredible evening hosted by Scott and his team at Scotlands Business Awards and I couldn’t have done it without my amazing and supportive team at GlamCandy.”
Amanda began her makeup artistry career when she enrolled in a number of GlamCandy Pro Courses after giving birth to her second child. As they were held over five consecutive weekends, Amanda was able to commit to her training around childcare.
She then went on to complete her HND Makeup Artistry, and upon graduating, applied to work as a tutor with GlamCandy – where she is now Head of Education at our Aberdeen location.
Amanda’s favourite class to teach is the Introduction To Makeup Artistry Pro Course as she is able to contribute to the growth of the makeup artistry community in Aberdeen.
She said, “There is nothing more rewarding than watching as students skills grow in a short amount of time.”
However, her favourite style of make-up to apply is SFX Makeup. Transforming clients and the freedom to create anything she wants is where she feels most comfortable. To her, SFX isn’t just about blood and gore, but beauty and creation of character.”
Amanda has an outstanding rapport with students, her love for teaching and building relationships with GlamCandy students is what makes her such a well-loved tutor. Often selecting students to assist her on brand photoshoots, Amanda is always keeping an eye out for the most promising artists that walk through GlamCandy’s doors.
