GlamCandy Bag Two Wins at Edinburgh Business Awards

Scotland’s largest makeup academy GlamCandy are celebrating after scooping two prestigious Scottish awards.

GlamCandy took home awards for Innovation and Best Education and Training at the Edinburgh Business Awards this year, an outstanding accomplishment for the academy.

The groundbreaking college for aspiring makeup artists of all ages and abilities have training locations in Edinburgh, Inverness, Glasgow, Dunfermline, Aberdeen, Brighton, London and Liverpool – making them the biggest makeup academy in the UK.

Now they have been recognised for their innovative techniques and quality of their courses with the double award win. Judges at the awards took into account public votes, mystery shopper tests and site visits before handing GlamCandy the trophies.

The firm provide courses aimed at makeup artistry hopefuls and professional artists alike – as well as supplying a wide range of high-end cosmetics in-store and online.

Accompanying the GlamCandy team at the ceremony was Illamasqua founder Julian Kynaston. The two companies have recently declared a partnership that has seen GlamCandy switch to using only cruelty-free products within their courses and in their shops.

Hayley Harvey Smith, who founded the firm five years ago, said the wins highlight the high standards she and her team strive to attain.

She said, “We always work to make our courses the very best they can possibly be. That involves looking at new techniques, new methods of delivery and new products – highlighted by our partnership with Illamasqua.

“I’m incredibly proud of my team and all they have achieved. We are always striving to give the very best to our clients and these awards are a recognition of that.”

GlamCandy will be continuing on to the final of Scotland’s Business Awards later this month.
