Course: HNC in Makeup Artistry Course
Previous job: School Student
Current job: Make-up Artist at the Venue Hair & Beauty
I have always had a very artistic background, ever since I was little I have had a passion for drawing, painting, anything creative. I always wanted to push boundaries and break the rules and see what could be created by doing so. I started painting on my body because I loved the way texture could be built up and the idea of using my own body as the canvas for my work and began painting on my face and experimenting with my facial features and seeing what i could transform into. This is where my love for makeup stemmed from. I came to Glam Candy straight from leaving school and have never looked back!
Glam Candy taught me a variety of useful tips and skills, that i have already put into practice.
They gave me the opportunity to do make up for models on two catwalk shows at St Andrews and the chance to work with models, stylists and photographers for photo shoots as part of the HNC accreditation.
As a result of the practical skills and business knowledge I learnt whilst attaining HNC Make Up Artistry with Glam Candy, I was given the confidence to start up my own business.
I have exhibited my services at a wedding show where I did the make up for 10 models on the Bridal Catwalk, and gained many bookings.
I have made some wonderful friends with other students and tutors and i have enjoyed the fabulous experiences and opportunities I have had during the last 6 months.
My aim is to go on to do make up for fashion, film and TV, photoshoots and become an editorial artist, and I am really excited to learn more creative techniques on the HND course that starts in August.
