Alice's passion for art began in high school, where she enjoyed art clasess and creating online visuals. No matter what she did, she always found a way to be creative. Alice's love for make-up flourished as a young woman, from creating face charts at 10 years old, to using her friends as models for photoshoots.
Alice didn't believe she could turn this passion into a career, and subsequently began studying Media and Communications at university. Upon graduation, she completely sidetracked her career after finding out about GlamCandy and hasn't looked back since.
No two days are the same as an artist, and working in make-up has allowed Alice to express herself through her incredible artistry skills and teach her knowledge to other students. She also has been able to grow her Instagram following, and has worked with some outstanding brands whilst also teaching at GlamCandy.
What motivated you to get into make-up?
My love for art. I had decided to continue studying in Film and English, but at the last minute I asked myself why I wanted to do this course. I kept picturing a life in film where I could get involved in the creative process - including the make-up - and this opened my eyes to the fact that I actually wanted to study make-up instead.
GlamCandy was the first course I found which incorporated actual industry experience, so it was a no brainier for me to apply and study the HNC.
How long did it take you to build your Instagram?
I’ve been slowly building my Instagram for a few years, but after posting my Halloween looks last year, I've seen alot of growth on my account.
It took 2 years to build to just over 10k followers, which was when I actively started to push it. I have also recently been signed with an influencer management agency.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
Any artists that push boundaries and have their own style like Alex Box and Pat McGrath, but my biggest inspiration has to come from drag queens. I love Raven, Kim Chi, Violet Chachki and Juno Birch.
What has been the best moment in your career so far?
I loved working at MurrayField to promote the Netflix movie Outlaw King with GlamCandy, that was a really fun experience!
What is your must-have product?
Bobbi Brown Face Base.
