In a family of mathematicians and doctors, Clarisse was an art-lover. She spent much of her time as a child painting, and her love for art encouraged her to attend Gray’s School of Art to study Fashion and Textiles.
During her studies, she began working on a beauty counter for Benefit Cosmetics. Clarisse had never really worn make-up, and had never experimented much as a teenager. However, she was able to express her artistic abilities through her job and fell head over heels in love with make-up.
This passion bagged her a job with MAC Cosmetics, where Clarisse couldn’t get enough of the atmosphere - the colours, the products, the customers and true freedom of creativity. Clarisse eventually felt she had outgrown a counter role and was ready to work for herself.
Renting a space in Toni&Guy, she taught private lessons, hosted masterclasses and worked on editorial shoots and magazine covers. After stumbling upon GlamCandy, Clarisse saw the opportunity to teach others, where she could share her experience and skills in a like-minded, passionate workplace.
Clarisse was hired as lead tutor for GlamCandy's HNC in Fashion Make-Up Course, where her incredible talent has inspired and encouraged her students' success in the industry.
"I'm definitely not afraid of a few risks - go for it. Whether it ends up good or bad, it was an experience."
