Clarisse is a lead tutor for our HNC Fashion Makeup Course.
Clarisse fell in love with colours and painting at a very young age. In a family of mathematicians and doctors, all she dreamt of was becoming an artist. Clarisse pursued this dream and attended Gray’s School of Art where she studied Fashion with Textiles. As with any student, Clarisse needed a job! It was on her Saturday stroll into Boots to pick up a new mascara, that she left with a beauty counter job at Benefit. Clarisse had never really worn much makeup, she had never experimented much with it as a teenager, Clarisse was more a canvas and acrylic paint girl! Time went by, and she progressed to landing her dream job in MAC. This was when she fell completely head-over-heels in love with makeup. Clarisse couldn’t get enough of the creativity, the colours, the products, the packaging, the lights, the mirrors, the customers! Clarisse trained and trained, and worked and worked until she realised she had outgrown a counter role and was ready to be a freelance artist! Clarisse became self-employed and rented a space in Toni&Guy, day-in-day-out creating art on her wonderful clients faces, teaching lessons and hosting masterclasses (Clarisse's favourite), working on editorial shoots and magazine covers, and making brides makeup dreams come true on their wedding day! A few years flew by and by chance she stumbled upon a certain “GlamCandy” Makeup Academy which was to open on her doorstep. Clarisse knew it was for her. To be a part of a thriving community, all with the same love and passion. Clarisse wanted to teach, she wanted to share her experience and skills, she wanted to be a part of a young makeup artist’s journey! And so here we are, 2 years from that day, and she has loved every moment of her journey with GlamCandy.
Clarisse has worked on amazing shoots such as Hot Tools Christmas campaign with celebrity artists, she has seen students blossom and the look of pride on their face when they have achieved something they didn’t think they were capable of, but most of all she has had fun! Clarisse can’t wait to see what the future holds!
"I'm definitely not afraid of a few risks. Go for it. Whether it ends up good or bad, it was an experience."
