From a young age, Morgan’s creative flair and love for art was always encouraged by those around her. Experimenting with different colours and themes allowed Morgan to transform herself by harnessing her artistic abilities through make-up. It was the confidence that this art form brought, and the ability to give others that same confidence that kickstarted her passion for beauty.
In her hometown of Aberdeen there were little opportunities to work in her desired field, and after a gap year volunteering in Costa Rica and a college course that wasn’t her true calling, she enrolled to study an HNC in Fashion Make-Up at GlamCandy Aberdeen. Upon completion of her HNC and gaining her qualification, Morgan began working for GlamCandy as a make-up artist and tutor. Here she can use her skill and talent to teach others, and express her creativity through the art of make-up.
What motivated you to get into make-up?
What motivated me to get into make-up was definitely the fact that I could be as creative as I’d like whilst working at the same time, which has always been a dream of mine.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspiration has got to be Val Garland. She is an incredible artist who has achieved so much in her career from working with Vogue to catwalks for Alexander McQueen. I just think she’s amazing!
What has been the best moment in your career so far?
The best moment in my career so far has got to be when I worked as Lead Assistant to the make-up artist for Shrek The Musical.
I spent a whole week learning about theatre make-up and making prosthetics, I even did main character Princess Fiona’s make-up. Taking part in quick changes and really seeing what happens behind the scenes was such an amazing experience.
Another amazing moment in my career was when I assisted Clarisse Morieux in a Trend Magazine shoot. My name was published in their 2019 S/S edition!
What is your must-have product?
My must-have product has got to be NARS Tinted Glow Booster, it’s my favourite product for wearing on its own to give you that sun-kissed glow, but also for mixing into foundation for a more full coverage look.
What is your favourite GlamCandy course and why?
My favourite course is the HNC in Fashion Make-Up because I have first-hand experience and it is fantastic! You come out with a whole portfolio of work including photoshoot images plus an extensive amount of knowledge of the industry.
