Rachael's career in make-up began whilst working on a small cosmetics counter at her first job at Topshop. Realising what make-up can do for peoples confidence and her love for applying make-up everyday, she was inspired to pursue it as a career.
Rachael loves how in this industry, you are constantly learning, trends are always changing and the ability to express yourself through your work. Working with GlamCandy, she liaises every day with an incredible team who motivate and encourage each other to the best of their potential.
WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO GET IN TO MAKE-UP ARTISTRY?
I loved watching YouTube videos and recreating the techniques and styles on myself.
I worked at Topshop after leaving school, and I was placed in the make-up section which inspried me to begin studying make-up as a career.
WHERE DID YOU TRAIN?
I trained in London with Illamasqua and then applied for a job at GlamCandy.
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL WEEK LOOK LIKE FOR YOU AT GLAMCANDY?
Everyday is different at GlamCandy.
I lead the high school education team, so I can be out at high schools teaching one afternoon and then working on a commercial photoshoot or fashion show the next.
I also provide masterclasses and personal lessons for customers, as well as make-up appointments.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE STYLE OF MAKE-UP?
I love soft glam, full glam and naturally enhancing clients' features.
HOW DO YOU KEEP UP YOUR SKILLS?
GlamCandy encourage us to take on additional training and will occasionally put us through courses to get inspiration from other artists.
I worked with Kimberley MUA in Manchester, where I created a sunset smokey eye on the model which I absolutely loved.
I also completed the Karla Powell Lip Art course which was just incredible as she is so talented.
