What It’s Like To Model For GlamCandy
In December 2022, we collaborated with Bellissimo, a fake tanning company that is breaking boundaries for everyone. We had the chance to sit down with some of our models from the day to speak about their experience. Freya (@FacesbyFreya), who is currently studying her HNC Fashion Makeup here at GlamCandy, was approached after doing her first look and asked if she wanted to be a model in the campaign also.
“I started my day as a makeup artist on the Bellissimo tan shoot, I spent the morning doing my beautiful models makeup and watching all the girls get their pictures taken which was really fun to be a part of! Then in the afternoon my tutor Lois asked me if I would want to model for the shoot which I was over the moon about as I have always been interested in the modelling aspect as well as the makeup. I was very nervous to be in front of the camera, but with a lot of encouragement and direction, after about 5 minutes I was really enjoying myself.”
“My favourite part of the day was being in the environment of a photoshoot, both modelling and as a makeup artist. It was a very professional feeling and just reminded me why I joined GlamCandy and go after the career I want to follow – my least favourite part of the experience was waiting on the final photos…I was just too excited to see them.”
If Freya was to model again with GlamCandy she would love to do more beauty modelling or work on high fashion editorial shoots, as she loves seeing different creative ideas collaborating to make up something so out there and unique, both as makeup artists and models.
We also sat down with Merah (@MerahAnderson03), who has modelled for GlamCandy on a few photoshoots now.
“My favourite part of the day is always seeing tutors give their students the go ahead with their final look, the look on both the student and tutors faces is always amazing. I also love getting in front of the camera and getting my pictures taken by the photographer, they always tend to be kind and helpful with your poses and telling you what they want. My least favourite part was the cold…because you cant really move when you’re getting your makeup done, you always tend to feel a bit cold.”
If Merah was to model again for GlamCandy she would love to be a part of more full Glam type shoots, as she feels it’s always an honour to be a part of the professionals. She also finds the more natural/glow looks best fitting.
