Lead tutor and senior MUA, Karen Bowen, worked alongside L’Oréal as lead artist on set to promote new hair colour ‘Majirel Glow’ to salons.
Karen was appointed as lead makeup artist for the L’Oréal Professionnel shoot at Charlie Miller Salon in Edinburgh and brought HNC student Michelle Farrell along to assist on the professional set.
Michelle’s success and dedication on her course led Karen to allow her to take initiative and work on some models herself. Giving her some outstanding, essential experience as a professional artist.
Karen said, “I selected Michelle to assist me on the L’Oréal shoot as, throughout Michelle’s time with GlamCandy, she has been consistent in her efforts to improve her skills and master techniques.”
The photoshoot brief was for artists to create a ‘soft and natural’ makeup look with glowing skin to accentuate the luminescence of the new L’Oreal hair colour.
Michelle gained invaluable industry experience working with such a global brand as L’Oreal Professionnel. The experience is an outstanding addition to her CV for future professional employment as a make-up artist.
Michelle said, “The experiences GlamCandy has given me, you wouldn’t get anywhere else. You are taught by tutors who have years of experience in the industry and if you work hard enough, you are able to assist them with their freelance work.”
