Vicky first began her career in beauty and makeup at the age of 17 and after 37 years in the industry Vicky can honestly say it's been the most interesting, exciting and rewarding journey of her life to date. Vicky trained in fashion and photographic makeup at the renowned Glauca Rossi School of makeup in London before returning to Scotland where she started working on photoshoots with some of the best photographers in the industry. Vicky worked on many advertising campaigns for corporate clients such as RBS, The Bank of Scotland, Scottish Widows, Scottish Power and Scottish gas to name a few. She has also worked and continued to work on commercial campaigns for many brands such as Slater menswear, William Leckie Knitwear, Boots, Topshop, Just Cool Sportswear, LimeBlonde,Belinda Robertson Fashion, Lisa Cameron Taylor Cashmere, Ocean Terminal, Borders Biscuits, and Scottish Fine Soaps.
Vicky moved South of the border and worked on many high profile jobs for fashion houses, nightclubs and hair artists. She had her work on Billboards, magazines and has also worked on various music videos. Vicky's work has been published in many magazines including Spectrum Magazine, Harpers & Queen, Red inc. Magazine and Mixmag. She has worked with celebrities, sports personalities and politicians for Red carpet events and publicity campaigns. Vicky loves to travel and this job has allowed her to work in some stunning locations.
Vicky started her teaching journey with GlamCandy in 2014 and has loved every minute of it. One of Vicky's teachers once said to her 'There's room at the top for everyone' and it's the motto she uses when she is passing on her knowledge to her students. She wants to share everything with them and hope this helps them go on to have amazing, long and and very successful careers in this industry. Vicky's journey is still ongoing and she continues to enjoy the variety this job brings.
WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO GET IN TO MAKE-UP ARTISTRY?
When i was younger it was the age of the super models Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Helena Christensen, Christy Burlington, Claudia Schiffer and Cindy Crawford. I loved how beautiful and utterly flawless they were. I was drawn to the industry because of them. I wanted to be part of the behind the scenes team that created beautiful, flawless, utterly gorgeous skin!

Kevin Aucoin, Bobbi Brown and Alex Box. I’m also very much inspired by the work of fashion photographers and hairdressers. I love how everyones input is integral to creating a masterpiece.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE GLAM CANDY COURSE AND WHY?
HNC course because of the amount of details covered. The course is over a 6 month period so students can perfect the copious amounts of looks given and fully understand them. Also the students are given the opportunity to carry out photoshoots for their looks using professional models.
