Although this iconic series is not a beauty or makeup show per se, many of todays most popular techniques are inspired by the world of drag. Cut crease eyeshadow, contour and highlight techniques have long been used by drag queens to create the illusion of different facial features.

This eccentric competition show is a great watch for anyone who is interested in drag and transformational makeup. Some specific contestants are worth looking out for, such as Raven (Season 2), Raja (Season 3) and Gottmik (Season 13) – who are all from professional makeup artistry backgrounds.

US series’ are streamed on Netflix and UK/Canadian/Down Under series’ are streamed on BBC iPlayer.

All of these makeup shows have us feeling super creative! Will it be recreating a clumpy lash or maybe ombre lips from Glow Up or even Victorian chic? The possibilities are endless!
